FRISCO, TX — An arrest report and body camera footage released Thursday detail the seemingly drunken events leading up to a NFL player's public intoxication arrest.
According to an arrest report written by Terrance Williams' arresting officer, the 28-year-old's blue Lamborghini Huracan was found crashed and abandoned in the intersection of Frisco Green Avenue and Lebanon Road around 4:41 a.m.
The officer found the car's registration and tied it back to Williams. He then went to Williams' house, where he spoke with a gate attendant.
The attendant "stated the paper man had come through approximately 5 minutes prior and that Terrance Williams had come through within the last 10-15 minutes," the report states.
The officer then reported seeing the gates open as "[Williams] was observed driving an electric bicycle out of the gate and onto the 2400 block of Rock Creek [Parkway]," the report states.
The officer then watched as the bicycle served "heavily from side to side..."
Williams' bicycle then stopped suddenly, tossing the man over the handlebars and onto the ground, the officer wrote.
The officer spoke with Williams and "observed him to have bloodshot and watery eyes, his speech was slurred, and the strong odor of alcohol was detected emitting form his breath as he spoke."
The report states Williams told police he was using the motorized bicycle to go see the crashed Lamborghini, which his friend had borrowed for the evening.
Williams went on to claim his friend left in a yellow Camaro after the crash.
The officer reported that he found Williams' phone in the car and his car keys in his pockets, the report states.
Williams was arrested and taken to Frisco Jail on a Public Intoxication charge.
In a statement released shortly after the crash, Williams claimed he was driving the car during the crash.
"I am grateful that no one was injured in the accident. The driver in front of me slammed on his brakes and I turned to the left and hopped the curb to avoid hitting him. I got his insurance information and my neighbor picked me up when my car wouldn't drive. I live right near where the accident occurred, so my neighbor dropped me off and I called a tow truck and took the scooter from my house to go meet the tow truck driver. The police officer, who I have met in the past in the neighborhood, saw me on the scooter and arrested me without performing any sobriety tests. I have always been an upstanding citizen and handled the situation the best way I know how. I apologize if I should have handled it a little bit differently."
His attorney, meanwhile, denied the crash entirely, writing, in part, "contrary to media reports, Terrance did not hit a light pole and there was no light pole even near the vehicle. Secondly, his arrest was wholly unrelated to the traffic accident."
Williams was released from Frisco Jail after posting $369 bail.
